Counselling
Yes, my name is really Radish! I’m a queer, non-binary, pisces, white settler Canadian from Whitehorse Yukon, with strong roots in the maritimes. I am a Creative Arts Therapist (MA), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C) living and working in beautiful Mi’kma’ki (Nova Scotia).
I completed my Masters degree in Drama Therapy at Concordia University in 2025 with a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy. I also hold a BFA in Creative Writing, with a minor in Gender Studies and a minor in Psychology.
The Language of Play
Rediscover the wisdom of your younger self...
For children, play is their natural language. Through imagination, movement, storytelling, and exploration, children make sense of the world. Playing helps them learn to express emotions and navigate new experiences.
As we grow older, many of us lose touch with this instinctive way of connecting, creating, and exploring. Responsibilities, expectations, and difficult experiences can lead us to become more rigid, guarded, or disconnected from our sense of curiosity.
Drama Therapy and Playful Counselling offer an opportunity to reconnect with this part of ourselves. Through imagination, creative exploration, and collaboration we can practice new ways of thinking, relating, and responding. These experiences can support psychological flexibility, strengthen self-understanding, and create new pathways for healing and growth.
We’ll Grow at Your Pace
No forcing. No judging. Just curiosity.
Maybe play comes naturally to you. Maybe it feels completely foreign or just kind of uncomfortable. Wherever you're at, you are welcome here.
We’ll begin by building a foundation of trust and safety because no matter what therapeutic modality you try, the therapeutic relationship itself is an essential element of the healing process! I'll slowly introduce creativity and play through unique and effective (evidence-based) drama therapy interventions and play therapy techniques.
This process is highly collaborative, and I welcome your feedback along the way. We'll both gain insight from laughter, tears, and any discomfort or resistance that comes up along the way. Playful healing does NOT mean toxic positivity; all feelings are valid and welcome on this journey.
Together, we’ll explore what helps you feel more connected, authentic, expressive, and at home within yourself.
